Related Materials: Live and broadcast recordings of Houston Symphony concerts are maintained in the University of Texas Fine Arts Library's Historical Music Recordings Collection. Over the years additional deposits have been made, and now each season’s recordings are sent upon completion. Over 2800 items representing some 1600 concerts are preserved on radio broadcast tapes from 1945 to 1953 and concert recordings from 1975 to the present. Both raw recordings for each live concert and a compilation recording for broadcast are retained. Formats include reel-to-reel tapes, audiocassettes, DATs, compact discs and DVDs.
